Study and development of breeding methods and Biological Control Organisms (OCB) of fruit pests.

In this project, OpenNatur carried out the development of new production methods for insects used as natural enemies of pests, to allow the implementation of integrated pest management protocols in agricultural and fruit farms in the North of Spain, beginning trials in the Lleida region.

The most important novelty of the project resided in the fact that the varieties of insects to be used are captured in the first instance in the regions where they will be subsequently used, so as to ensure their full adaptation to the environment after release and not generate new ones. interactions in the ecosystems of the area.

With the achievement of the project, the company was able to obtain a significant improvement in its competitive capacity, since in this way it can currently offer much more complete and personalized services to its clients through the development of biological pest control strategies.
