Description:
It is a species of coleopteran, native to tropical Asia, of large size, between two and five centimeters, with a reddish ferruginous color that differentiates it from any other coleopteran.

Generations:
In the Mediterranean area, if conditions are favorable, 4 generations per year develop.

Damage:
It causes damage to palms that is not visible to the naked eye as it produces galleries that run through the leaves, as well as the length of the trunk. In intense attacks, the plant is eventually killed.
